Mr. Surath Vanno...as the curator of our plant gallery, has worked hard all his life to put together an amazing collection of rare and exotic tropical plants. We invite you to enjoy his selection, along with home and garden decoration accessories in a relaxing atmosphere. During your visit, we also invite you to enjoy Bankampu Tropical Café, a refreshment corner where we provide freshly brewed coffee, beverages, and tasty dishes. Surath Vanno, the founder of Bankampu, has always been affectionate to nature, especially ornamental plants, since he was a young child. He first collected plants since he was only fifteen. Even though he pursued an academic degree in Industrial Design and taught as an industrial art professor at Chulalongkorn University, he has always collected and traded plants, and designed gardens as a career. In 1975, Surath married his wife, Tassanee. With the help of his wife, the couple devoted their lives to their career and became respected as a dedicated plant collector and landscape designer. Surath loves to travel around the world, finding new plants to add to his collection. He builds his business on honesty, hospitality, and friendship. A visit to his collection used to required an appointment. Today, Surath offers his collection to the public by opening Bankampu Tropical Gallery, where nature lovers can enjoy his work for leisure or educational purposes. Visitors can shop and bring home wonderful ornamental plants and enjoy our beautiful café in a luscious tropical compound. Bankampu has become a perfect escape from busy Bangkok, where visitors can rest and recharge among nature. Further more, our green spaces have been chosen by hundreds of couples as their memorable wedding in the garden venue.
